Biography of Father Thierry de Roucy

Father Thierry was born in France in 1957. At the age of 18 years old, in 1975, he entered the Servants of Jesus and Mary, a religious order based in Ourscamp, France.

He received his bachelor and master of Philosophy from the Institut de Philosophie Comparee in Paris, and holds a Master of Theology from the “Angelicum”, the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome. He was ordained a priest in 1983, and was Superior General of his congregation from 1988 to 2001.

In 1990, as he was praying the Rosary along with his community, he received the intuition to start Heart’s Home. In 1995, he founded the Molokai Fraternity - for lay consecrated and priests - and the Servants of Jesus and Mary, a congregation of religious sisters affiliated to Heart’s Home. Since 1990, he has worked as President of Heart’s Home and traveled the world to establish 40 centers in 20 countries, including the Heart’s Home John Paul II in New York as well as the International Center for a Culture of Compassion, in Woodlbourne, NY.
